I noticed there was no topic for this and I just stumbled upon it myself through a gaming blog, but whatever, I'll post the link here anyways.

"New Kids on the Block Prototype Sample NES Nintendo Box
This auction is for an early sample box for the New Kids on the Block game for the Nintendo Entertainment System. This is a BOX ONLY. Please see the high res image below of the actual item you'll receive.
The white spot on the B in Block is a sticker, not a tear. It's possible that it could be removed. It looks like the print was made on a high quality printer using glossy photo paper and adhered to a cardboard box.. This came from the office of a major video game magazine. As you can see from the photos, it's pretty beat up. The black squares on the back are velcro. This 'box' does not open up.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask!"
Assuming it's not fake, all I have to say is I'm surprised LJN or T*HQ's names aren't plastered on the box as the demons behind this... why do I always get stuck posting about the cheesiest canned games? |

I don't know... is it normal to create a front but not a back image? |

Smart money says this one hits close to 4 digits if not more by the time it ends. |

My guess is that it was a mockup for advertising - like for this FF2 retailer ad. There's no need to create a back image in that case, if it's not going to be visible in the ad. |

Even though the auction ended a little over a week ago I'll throw a little post here saying that the final price ended at $589.00 USD for some closure if that's needed. |
