I've just read the following about NES Darkwing Duck at a certain Spanish site:

As far as I am aware, the only source we have that Darkwing Duck 2 was even considered is a listing in the Rumor Mill section of the Digital Press Collector's Guide. There are quite a few rumored games included in there that have no sources attached to them, which is a shame. I trust all of the editors that have worked on it (myself included!) but I wish whoever added that game took the thirty seconds it would have taken to write where the rumor came from in the description.

Reminds me of that time when the ending sequence of Shadowrun for SNES told me to watch out for Shadowrun 2 =(

Well, technically, about a decade and a half later, we did end up getting that awful FPS game
