Or similarly inebriated. I tried participating in a thread on this over at Gamefaqs, but, like everything else there, it became UAR E teh SUCK!! after about three minutes.
A little while back I had the good fortune to play Chu Chu Rocket with three friends while we were totally baked. That was fun. And the only time I've ever won at CCR.
I haven't gotten to try it, but one of these days at a con I'm going to do something like Ironman Saturn Bomberman. Ten players, when you get blown up, you have to take a shot. Double if you off yourself.
So anybody got any good ideas for or stories about substance abuse and gaming? |

I played FF:Cyrstal Chronicles while absolutely smashed last weekend, and the looking up and down from the gba to the tv combined with all the alcohol created a SPLITTING headache. Add in the fact that I only got four hours of sleep, and that was one rough day.
If only I had a good story, but, you know..
..ah, just kidding, I really don't care what drugs people use as long as they don't go driving during their high. |

On the rare occasions that I've smoked marijuana before playing pinball, I have been a PINBALL GOD.
I can't think of any other times I've combined recreational drugs with gaming, though. I'd probably lose my mind playing Metal Gear Solid on acid. |

No. Play against that Mantis boss (the one that floats?) -on- acid. Then you'd lose your mind. |

Actally, I don't know of anybody who uses the term "goofballs" in real life. I tend to use unusual terms for things, but still remain understandable. If memory serves me correctly, I pulled goofballs from MST3k, and that Simpsons where Chief Wiggum had pulled over Flanders. "I knew it. Goofballs! Where's your messiah now?" or something. |

I don't know, but last week I was playing Gladius stoned out of my mind, and I began setting up the battles like movie scenes (if that makes sense). At one point, I got a bit carried away and began voicing dialogue fo the characters. That wasn't so bad, except that my bear character was talking like an OG.
"Don't fuck with me nigguh, I'm a gangstah."
...
...
That was some good shit... |

That's okay, I do that sober. Gimmick! for the Famicom, in particular, gets a lot of voice treatment.
(very serious tone) "I am Gimmick. Fuck with me. Yes."
"...STAR ON YOU! STAR ON YOU! RIDE! RIDE THE FUCKING STARRRRR!!!!"

Yume Penguin Monogatari gets my best Miguel impression.
"Fatty Penguin did eat the FOOD!" "Blarg, you have been kicked." and such. Damn, I need to get a cart of that game. |

You're not the only one.
One day I'll have a copy of every game I've translated. Until then, I guess the roms will have to do. :P |

After more research, I've found the Bubble Bobble rules the world, as does Wario Ware. Actually, any sort of super-fruity-cute game is cool, such as Pocky and Rocky, New Zealand Story, any of the Parodiuii, etc...
But Wario Ware is great for its fast-paced nature.
DDR's fun while drunk, because you think you're far better than you are, although I _can_ get up to 6 feet while seriously smashed.
GTA is pretty fun 3 sheets to the wind, trying to drive safely. "AWW hell. I ran over another hooker..." |
