What are you talking about? It's totally similar. It's got punches and kicks and everything! |

Punches and kicks don't make two games similar or different. What makes games what they are is the feel, the elements, and the pure goodness. |

Renegade is a beat-em-up, River City Ransom is a beat-em-up adventure. Of course, the sports titles are beat-em-up sports titles, for the most part, too. All I'm saying is RCR and Renegade were closer in mechanics and design than RCR and Ganbare Dunk Heroes or any of the others. |

I dunno, I'd still disagree on account of that whack Renegade control scheme. |

Yeah. I'd say it's closer to maybe Double Dragon 2 (if I'm remembering the Renegade control scheme correctly) than RCR, if anything. |

True, but Double Dragon isn't Nekketsu. Although there is always the crossover (the twins in River City High). |

But it's fun.
Writing out the ideas is one of the most fun parts. |

Of course it is. It's also the least vital part to actually making the thing - one tenth inspiration, nine tenths perspiration and all that. |

Well, yeah. It was partially that (but mostly that both series were originally by the same company) that I was thinking about with my comment. |

I think it should be mentioned on this thread that Scott Pilgrim vs the World: The Game has all the elements of the original River City Ransom (except for BARF!, sadly) plus most of the things I've heard mentioned for RCR2. It was released on the Xbox Arcade and Playstation Market earlier this year for $10. |

It is also a broken, buggy, badly-paced piece of shit. |

Fun as hell, though. (And I never experienced any of these bugs, either, so I don't know what everyone's bitching about.) |
