Hi,
I tried to play this, it stops after the first level. Is the dump bad or some mapper problem?
Thank you. |

Yeah, I ran into the same problem with Strike Wolf. I tried creating a stage select code for it but it's kinda hard to make the code when it doesn't even let you into Stage 2... |

Set $C3AF and $C3B0 to $EA and the game should work fine. It seems to get stuck in a loop waiting for something, but I didn't really look into it too much. Changing those two values lets it pass.
EDIT: Err, I wasn't very specific. Change $C3AF and $C3B0 in memory, not in the ROM file. Also, if this makes any difference, I was using FCEUX.
EDIT2: May be bad mapper emulation. Seems like the only game that uses this mapper.

Hybrid, I put that Game Genie code in FCEUX and after the title screen it goes to a black screen and stays there. I've been dying to play past level 1 myself. Any clue if I'm doing something wrong? |

odd never tried it from the title screen ok forget the Game genie code
it looks like the raw hacking is the only way to do it looks like the game genie code changes too much in the rom
a total of 7 locations in the rom guessing its one of the 6 others that it screws it over |

Just go to tools -> cheats and make it look like this:
I was able to play through the entire game(Well, with some health and missile cheats!). |

Hey you flapjack, it worked! I don't know what the hell I did wrong the first time but I deleted the codes, put them back in and blew through the first stage into the next one.
Brilliant work chap! |

It's definitely doing some sort of voodoo with the mapper. Probably just a lame anti-piracy feature. |

if someone wanted to post a link to the rom I could test the raw rom out on my flash card and see if it works that way? |

has anybody tried this with NEStopia? I seem to recall it was working (but I suck at this game, and I cannot manage to finish the first level anymore ) |

Since Micro Genius was a VERY popular Famicom clone in Taiwan BITD, it may also be possible that the game was designed to work only on those (possibly inaccurate) clones, thus having incompatibility issues with the real system (and "accurate" emulators). |

FCEUX SVN (from r2780 onwards) and latest FCEUmm from CaH4e3 run this fine. CaH4e3 fixed mapper 36 to avoid crashing after level 1. |

I was gonna make a patch to fix the crash and submit it to romhacking.net but I realized how pointless that would be since you gotta use a modern emulator to play it anyway. Since modern emulators play it fine theres hardly a need for a patch. It didn't run in either FCEUXD or JNES. |
