After receive a bunch of pictures of the actual prototype PCBs, I have decided to go back and look at some of the prototypes that didn't get good articles, as my sleuthing skills have increased. First up, Super Buster Bros, which is actually a prototype between two released revisions:

Couldn't have said it better myself. To Your Success!
I guess that nobody knows why the second version of SNES Super Buster Bros. had to be made? That fourth level didn't have any problems in the first release, did it? |

From just a quick check, one of the changes from the proto to version 1.1 looks like a sound engine bugfix of some kind. |

Cool, I'm a big Buster Brothers fan, but we haven't really seen many prototypes of the series over the years. Here's hoping more show up in the future. |

Starting to clear up the loose ends of these prototypes. Got started on posting the prototypes that were the same as final. First off, Captain Commando:

Another housekeeping item, Wild Guns:

Although the Lost Levels prototype is the same as final, I actually found a prototype of the game, and I looked at it a bit in detail. |

I updated the War of the Gems prototype. Originally, it looked like the graphics were all messed up, but this was a result of a bug in zsnes. If you play the prototype in Higan or bsnes, the graphics are fine.

Lesson, use the most accurate emulator possible. |
