Released by the man himself, John Romero.
gogogo bitches.
Also, there's a pre-alpha of Daikatana there, if you're into that sort of thing. |

Ugh. I wonder how long his marriage to his 16 year old European wife will last. |

I think the important question is: what will the kids look like? |

Haha, I had no idea Top Cow did a Daikatana comic. I would love to read that.
edit: Hey, wow. Could this be... promising?
Quote: | The GameBoy Color version of Daikatana was designed to be like Zelda on the NES and it succeeded brilliantly. Unfortunately, Kemco (developer of both GBC and N64 Daikatanas) didn't release the game because of the completely devastating treatment given to the name Daikatana by the press at large. It was shelved, but remains playable as a ROM file. Get it while it's hot! You can play the file with Visual Boy Advance. |
edit 2: Wow. That wasn't terrible, but it was pretty damn bad. Maybe it would feel different on a gameboy, but I'm not so sure. The intro alone takes fucking forever and I just didn't care, let me play the fucking game.. which is blah.. argh. |

I played the Daikatana GBC game a few months ago, and actually liked it. But remember, I'm the freak that loves to torture himself with awful games...
I didn't think it was that bad. |

I do think it was out before Romero put it on his site. I didn't see you guys had anything about it, so I posted it here. |

There's a "Daikatana" rom in the GoodGBX collection, which I assume is the final, unreleased version. I thought there was a final release available - sad, because I wanted to buy it eventually.
Edit:
The roms that Romero released are in GoodGBX under these names:
Daikatana GBC ROM File English = Daikatana (E) (M3) (Eng-Fre-Ita) [C][!]
Daikatana GBC ROM File French, German, Spanish = Daikatana (E) (M3) (Fre-Ger-Spa) [C][!]
They're both in the Color\Europe directory. |

This would actually be pretty good if characters would stop crawling out of you and give a theatrical performance before and after every major event, not to mention the fashbacks. |

Looks like it was released, unless this is a review copy or something. |

Wow, I not quite sure what to make of that link. I played the N64 version of Daikatana and I got the idea that it was the better version of the two games. Kemco, weren't they also resposible for the N64 Shadowgate games???
Also, I'm surprised no one has brought up Steve Case yet... |

Yea, I could swear I've played a GBC Diakatana game years ago, and forgetting it promptly and playing Castlevania or something else. I'm going to have to see if I still have it. |
