Man, good question. drunkdog306's IP isn't an exact match for Playstation Museum, but Retrogamer64, Lynch2069 and PlayStationMuseum have all used the exact same IP for every post.

Wait a minute, I live in NYC. If you guys want, I can take this guy for a ride to the Hudson river.
Nothing crazy, just dangling off bridge stuff. Or worse, chanting and levitating with Shree Ragwan Leshwagaroo Nozowitz while drinking COORS light.

If you intend to do that, which I don't condone *cough*, make sure to grab the beta while you're there.

Its possible that his source is actually working for Square-enix.

I'd say the most likely group to have a copy of the 1.5 build would be the Parasite Eve 2 team

(edit: I am aware that this is late, but the 1.5 game is such an infamous game that I am still very interested in).

Resident evil 2 was mostly a reskinning of Resident evil 1.5. It isnt that interesting if you ask me.

It may seem that way, but when they say RE1.5 was scrapped it means that RE2 was not built upon RE1.5. They completely started over.

The story and scenario were similar, but different.

RE 1.5 seems to be a largely more action oriented game.

There were many more types of zombies, including skinny, fat, etc. They stopped at nothing to attack you, much like RE3. The videos of these zombies, however, make them seem more difficult and resistant to bullets than any zombies we've seen in an RE game before - probably to make up for the amount of firepower handed to you in the game.

There was no "zapping" system, only one disc like RE1.

Special vests could be equipped to reduce damage.

The game was actually LONGER and included a factory area in addition to the R.P.D., sewer, and lab areas. The lab was larger (and at one point was on fire). Basically the version of RE2 we have now was probably cut short due to the fact that remaking a game from scratch probably is no fun at all for developers.

Birkin fought other creatures, and there were many other creatures such as apes and this strange spider man creature.

Marvin did not die at the beginning, and continued with Ada into the sewers. These were Leon's partners. Elza's partners were the gunshop owner and Sherry.

There was no tyrant, but instead you fought one of two creatures named zolgotha or something and something else (this might have been random).

I'll stop you there. You're half right. A lot of the features on the engine half were redone, true. But the basic game wasn't altered. And it was built on 1.5. If you get a copy of the Biohazard 2 trial, and extract the images, HUNDREDS of background images from 1.5 are still there. Not to mention even the final resident evil 2 released to retail has leftovers too.

If the game was for sale, especially at that price, it would already be on the internet.

I feel the same way. We should stop bumping this thread unless we have an update.

Although, I have to say, I'm glad we got RE2. I consider it one of the best games of all time, and 1.5 is simply something I would like to sample. I want to see the bloodstained armor and boss fights that could have been. At the same time, I'm fine with what we got too. It's not like we were deprived of an awesome game, unlike the Starfox 2 situation. (While we did get the game in some capacity, it would have been completely lost otherwise.)
