That seems overpriced. Does anyone know anything about this game, or its developer, and want to shed some light here? |

Looks like the kinda game I'd want to play, but yeah, not for that much.
Someone add it to the db. |

Well, IGN did a preview of it back in 2000... here's the link:
http://ign64.ign.com/articles/131/131071p1.html
If you're too lazy to click the link, here's a sample from it:
Quote: | September 6, 2000 - Echo-Delta, developed by the Marigul-funded design team Clever Trick, is a title that's hard to categorize. It has both real-time strategy (RTS) and RPG elements, but plays like an action-based game as well.
You have 18 minutes to raise a sunken ship from the ocean floor. To do this you scour the sea bottom in search of resources that can be used to help upgrade your special submarine named Scout. The Z-trigger activates a radar beam that is used to aid Scout in the search for the resources. Basically the radar is a long straight beam of light that sweeps the circumference of the Scout like a fan blade. When it locates resources there is a ripple of blue light waves that highlight the area where they are to be found. To dig up the resources you place your ship over the target area and press the A-button. This activates the Scout's "stomp" function, which really ends up looking like a foot slamming onto the sea floor. This causes the resource material to pop out of the ground. The resources are actually small "energy angels" that fly around after you dig them up. Collecting them is relatively easy, and you simply pass the ship over the top of the energy angel. |
Also it should be noted that this preview states that the copy they had was at 90% completion. So it's very possible that the cart on eBay is legit, and nearly a complete game. |

Also, the seller claims he is selling this game to be able to purchase another unrelease game from the same company or parent-company. I did a little research... Clever Trick never made anything else, however the parent company, Marigul, worked on several things. They co-developed a few titles like Cubivore for the GCN, and Hey You Pikachu for the N64. The other game I found that they developed independantly, that looked to be near completion yet was cancelled world-wide was Teo. Teo was, from I can tell, a virtual pet sim, much like the Hey You Pikachu, but without a name-brand mascot. It was to take advantage of the N64's microphone controller attachment, so that you could interact with your on screen pet. My guess, is that this would be the game the seller is looking to accuire by selling Echo Delta. It's the only game I can see that was cancelled world-wide that had any amount of completion to it.
IGN also had a preview of this game:

this game will either be bought or not be bought, but either way i'm sure its just gonna get stuck in a closet for 'safe keeping' instead of seeing the light of day |

Is it a happy ending? Has the buyer offered to have it dumped? |

Well 1520 USD ...
I still can't believe it ... It is fairly too much. It is nearly the price of a nes unreleased prototype ... i lost this auction ...
And the guy who bought didn't buy anything for years ...
Weird ....
No dump for sure ... |

If all unreleased NES prototypes went for that much, I guarantee you Lost Levels would have a whole lot less to write about. |

It's always a lot of money i guess, $1000+ buys always hurt in the pocket, at leats for the most of us. The 2nd proto add was a good thing to do and 2 for $1520 is an ok deal IMO, not mega hyper terror combo superb, but ok. |

i know, i know, thread necromancy.
but i got to thinking about this game for one reason or another and decided to see if anything about it being dumped has come up. not so lucky, but in my search i found the guy who bought the cart. he runs a website, which from the best i can tell is an online videogame store for Nintendo products in Norway.
http://www.tendo.no
the contact information on the site is most likely for the store, as it seems to have a brick and morter location as well (from what I can tell, but then again I dont speak that language.)
if anyone [EDIT- with the ability to dump N64 carts] feels like contacting him though, you could PM him on NeoGAF, seems pretty active there, here's a link to his profile. I dunno if he'd be interested or not, but it's worth a shot. |
