Actually, mine was dumped, I found it at a thrift in Salt Lake City while visiting a girl and sent it to Kev. |

Speaking of old days when some commercially released NES roms weren't dumped yet... and this is pretty much entirely off topic, but so it this whole thread... I remember contributing a LOT to this site, 8Bit of Power, if I remember correctly, game endings for NES roms. Specifically in freeze state format, because I guess noone thought to just use image captures for animated gifs, or AVIs or whatever back then. I also contacted several people to get things dumped but things always fell through for one reason or another. Jesus hates my carts, I'm sure of it.
[EDIT] After reading this, I now understand that my brain works in runon sentances, and often changes topics in mid sentance. Perhaps I should proof-read more. |

Dude, anything Technos touched was awesome. If Technos made a tiddly wink game with Liberace on the cover, it'd rock. |

Hello from Game Developer Research Institute.
We believe that Star Trek V was by that ninja developer, Tose. We also think the game was probably reworked into Frankenstein: The Monster Returns, which WAS released the next year. |

Anything to back that up, or are you just gonna announce that you think that and call it a day? Because if that's the case, I believe that Star Trek V was by that ninja developer, Nintendo Co. I also think the game was probably reworked into NES Open Tournament Golf. |

Don't underestimate Tose. They are not just any ninja developer, they are a super terrific ninja developer. |

Nope, nothing.
Oh, wait. We actually compared in-game code such as the init code and the sound code. We also took a look at graphics and fonts. Whatever connections we could make since we don't have any actual credits to work with. The games in the list on the site share a lot of code. A bit of speculation on our part, but it's all we got unless Tose wants to disclose its full portfolio (which it doesn't). A number of those games match up with a list given at Japanese site Developer Table, which has been an excellent resource for us.
And I'm guessing you haven't played Frankenstein (could be wrong). There are definitely similarities. It's pretty much just a hunch, but it makes more sense than NES Open Tournament Golf. |

Thanks. I figured as much, just looking for a bit more meat in my stew. As far as the Golf comment goes, it's called sarcasm.
[EDIT] After following the link, I want to thank you. That site has a really interesting list, including a slew of BioHazard titles. |

Sar-what?
Anyway, we have a tool in the works which will allow us to find shared code between games (basically, the opposite of programs out there that show you the differences between two files). Hopefully, that will help our investigation of Tose or maybe the ever-lovable Micronics (consult site). |

That'd be pretty awesome to see, actually. I bet you're going to find out that Tose secretly developed like half the Famicom's library.
Also I would like to take this opportunity to say fuck Micronics. Tose's pretty cool though. |

I remember a Japanese site having friggin' Kid Icarus on their list of titles that TOSE at least contributed to, I wonder if there's any truth to it?
There's an American TOSE office, by the way. It employs two people! |
