I just checked and the last version of SSF to run Lunar properly is 0.08 Alpha R1. You may have a bad ISO image (I know Eggmans Emulation Archive version is a bad image).

I wrote a FAQ (of sorts) over at Emu-Zone, you may want to check that out :

Sorry to revive this old thread, but I thought it would be better to post here than make a new one. Hopefully this isn't too off-topic.
I was playing Limit Over, and the only real trouble I was having with it was picking out character names, since the only Japanese in the menus is the character names. They look like they're stored as graphics, so it might be feasible to change them.
However, the tools the Limit Over team provided cover only the character sprites and backgrounds. I tried renaming files to make them read the other graphics, but I couldn't pick out the names anywhere there. I don't have much experience with tile editors and the like, so I thought I'd try asking here if anyone has any advice. |

Sorry to bump this anew, but I just got ahold of a working pre-patched image of Asuka 120% Limit Over. It's the same version as the one on this image, and its fully working on SSF, and complete with CD Audio tracks. Quite a flashy fighting game, but as I've never spent more then 10 minutes on the original, I haven't the slightest clue how it is different.
But, I remembered there was some talk about this here, especially about the problems when it comes to patching the image. So if anybody is still interested, I can upload the bincue somewhere. |

I did eventually remake the patch so you didn't have to split off the iso first. I can toss it on a server if anyone is interested (ie. if i can find it). |

the patch isn't really that hard to run, and an unpatched torrent isn't that hard to find.
It's hard to host the final image because it comes out to roughly half a gig.
If you need help using the patcher, let me know. |

I'm generating a new patch for it now, this one should be easier to manage. You can patch straight off the bin/cue without first separating the iso. One step process and all that. |

Look for "SP2.1" in the lower right corner. It works with Asuka 120% Special (dunno about Asuka 120% excellent or final).

The patched bincue is uploaded at underground-gamer. |

I got the torrent of Asuka 120% Limit Over. In this weekend, I instaled the Azureus in my PC to download, but there's no more seed for this torrent.
I try again see the torrent in underground-gamer (when I got the torrent), and the game is no more on-line.
So, anyone can upload this game in some server? |

I'm very sorry for reviving this old thread but I'm trying to get this patch working (Asuka120LimitOverPatch.rar) but the patcher says
"filezise/version mismatch" and I've tried like 3 different isos of the game. Can someone help ? |

I assume you're trying to patch the Saturn version, right? You're splitting the iso off of the music files, then patching the iso, right? |

I've got some news, Megaman951!
Since this topic was created like 10 years ago, the webhost that used to host the LimitOver patch has since stopped offering their services. Luckily, Archive.org grabbed most of the important stuff (the patch itself and most of the HTML files) but lost other stuff, like the boot sector patcher, all of the customization utilities, and some of the images).
I've translated most of what's left, as well as remade some of the lost images on the "moves" page, but I don't know Japanese fighting game terminology so some of the translations are probably incorrect.
I've also written a new tutorial on how to patch the game that you can pull off without needing a Japanese copy of Nero and Windows 95.
Here's the site:
http://www.infochunk.com/limitover/index.html
I would say that the reason most people couldn't patch the game was that the README file included with the patch had some incorrect info (mainly, the size of the Saturn boot sector was wrong). |
