I do too!
It's...not terribly hard to find, once you know what the internet is.
I keep meaning to see if I can contact one of the people who worked on the original Flashback and have them comment on the release, but whenever I stumble across one of their old homepages and the maybe-working-maybe-not email address, I get a sudden attack of "what if it is a painful subject for them?"
I probably wouldn't make a very good games journalist of any kind.
At least Paul Cuisset hasn't completely vanished off the face of the planet - word is he's working on something for the Wii |

| What is this Flashback Legends you speak of? Is it related to Flashback Quest for Identity in anyway? Cause that's like one of the greatest games ever |

A bit before Delphine kicked the bucket, they started work on a follow-up to Flashback for the GBA. The game didn't really get anywhere, but what appears to be a fairly involved engine demo (with a bit of storyline in french) can be found here and there on the web. It has about ten minutes or so worth of a lush jungle settling, kind of like the original Flashback's jungle run through the "well-intentioned 2D platformer for GBA" filter.
It actually works surprisingly well, even if it is rather hard to see what's going on at native resolution. Unfortunately, the new gun firing sound effect is the wimpiest fucking laser you'll ever hear in your life. Not satisfying at all! |
