I knew this week's show was going to be about preservation and all but surprise!
I'll have to listen to the rest later. Sounds awesome so far. |

I can't believe you got away with picking that game as your virtual selection.
Also why did nobody tell me that Dooley the Dinosaur was dumped?! |

I'm actually listening to it right now and considered posting here but figured everyone already knew.
Good stuff. |

Heh, because Frank was too lazy (or.. too busy?... nah.) to make a front page post like he said he was gonna do. He did quick and dirty rips of the music tracks though, (ah ha, he says the url in the podcast! no need to put it here then!)

Hey, what a great interview!
Regarding the VG&CE with information on Dooley: My memory's not that great, but I have a memory of reading a short blurb about the game (and its Nirvana-inspired music) in the first issue of VG&CE after they had changed their name to Video Games (italics theirs), and featured Ren & Stimpy on the front cover. |

Not much for me to say but echo everyone else. Great interview. Something pretty cool about hearing people discussing Sunman and Bio Force Ape. |

In regards to Duelin' Firemen, the director, Grady Sain, used to have a couple of similarly bizarre shorts up at cinefilevideo.com (waybacked and still downloadable here - the site is today currently just a blog). I don't know about the rest, but "Banjo Gyro" is pretty out there. I saw this stuff ages ago but hadn't realized it was the same guy. He seems to at least have formerly (and may still) had some involvement with CineFile - it's an amazing video store in Santa Monica, CA full of obscure, oddball, foreign, and counter-culture stuff (I've been once). I think I'd read that he ultimately took the footage from Duelin' Firemen and released it as a (non-interactive) film. He's also involved in some capacity with this. If you can find a current contact for the guy (his old website gradytrain.com is down), I'd bet he'd probably be open to talking about whatever was completed about the 3DO form of Duelin' Firemen.
I saw this footage from Gallagher's Gallery while morbidly curious about an old pre-laserdisc football arcade game (NFL Football) that ran video on this obscure format that was basically the video equivalent of vinyl records. I haven't really found Gallagher funny since I was five, but come on. |
