Edit: The images have been determined to be doctored. My thanks goes out to all of you who have given me help behind the scenes.

Looks like Resident Evil 2. The Leon model shown in that shot is either the same as in the final (or late 1.5), but the quality of the shot is too blurry (and the angle too wonky) to tell. Can't remember off the top of my head whether that's a 1.5 or final labs background you see there (at least I think it's the labs, based on the look of it)

So, the watermark on the picture appears to say "SophiaBT"

Yo!

Sent you a PM. Hope you find the time to read it and reply to it later.

I can say that it's probably a 1.5 shot, but whether it's actually real or not is hard to tell. I'd blame some of it on the camera angle. It basically prevents you from possibly seeing what's one of the most notable differences between the near-final Leon and the final Leon.

There is however somthing strange about that second picture. Something that doesn't quite match with other documentation of the same area. Which is kinda interesting ('cause some backgrounds are known to've changed slightly through out various builds of 1.5)

Ok, I've had more time to analyze and examine your second picture as well.

I'm definitely gonna have to say they are questionable, leaning towards being fake.

I previously told you about how the boxes are different in my private message.

While this is not a good quality image, there are a few noticeable differences. The box in your image appears to be 1 long box with 2 labels on it. There appears to be no labels on the side of it either. Whereas the box in the legitimate image is two boxes together with labels on the sides (zooming in, you can see the separation lines), and less space between the two labels. Theorethetically it is possible the box in your image is just a different one (since these are not the same camera angles, but they are both on the same conveyor belt in the same room of 1.5, just different spots) or that the box was changed/different in the build from your image. However, I find it unlikely they would not just reuse the same box model, and there is no other evidence to validate the box in your image.

The Leon in the first image is conveniently at a weird angle and impossible to tell if it's real. The animation appears to be a legitimate 1.5 animation, but I don't have retail RE2 handy atm to see if there is a similar animation.

As for the second picture, again Leon is at an angle where we can not clearly see the knife that is supposed to be on his right leg. It is apparent there is something there, however, I remembered that a PC RE2 modder released a model of Leon from retail with a knife on his right leg as homage to 1.5 Leon. This can be seen here:

http://www.the-horror.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6252

Also on the Leon model in your image, if you zoom in and look closely at the neck/chest area, you can see a V shape wrinkle from the top of the black chestplate area that tucks in under the shoulderplates. The next image is a legitimate image and shows there are no such clear V wrinkles above the chestplate in the 1.5 Leon model:

Leon's retail model does have the wrinkles. Here's a comparison with retail Leon at a similar (though not perfectly duplicate) angle.

In regards to the locations. There are 2 known builds of RE 1.5. One is the build the Playstation Museum reviewed and the build Inflames from Bioflames received images from (which was a later build). The build from the PsM does not have rails on the conveyor belt like in your image. However, the build Inflames was connected to did not have the lockers in the second image you showed. So either this is a build in-between those versions, or your build in the images are later than Inflames's.

I find it very suspect that in both images Leon isn't clearly a 1.5 Leon model, and both areas the screenshots are taken from are in common 1.5 background images that were found leftover on a retail RE2 trial disc and ripped and put online years ago.

Recently more people have discovered tricks on how to change the background files in the PC version, and switching out some models and animations can be done.

Personally, while I would still not say they are 100% fake, I am leaning more towards them being illegitimate.

I don't know under what circumstances you're in regarding these images, but there needs to be more 1.5 elements to be validated. The infected baboon monsters, zombies, inventory, or backgrounds that haven't been ripped from the retail demo, and especially Elza would be far more helpful to validate. As it appears right now, with a Leon model that appears to be too similar to retail anyway and in backgrounds available online, these two can't really be validated (esp in pics taken with a camera off a tv screen).
