To be honest the only reason most people are probably interested in the Pico at all is its a Sega system. People want it around for historical value. It was a fairly interesting system at the time. I wouldn't mind seeing somebody attempt support for it. Who knows, years from now some little kids might actually play these. |

i"d love to see leapster games get dumped, if nothing more than historical reasons too. I mean, they're edutainment titles that are actually selling very well. Never mind if they're fun or not, that alone makes them noteworthy. |

PSIV has significant script differences, depending on how old you go - things like Chaz and Alys being named Rudy and Ryre, for instance. What "freaky birdguy" are you talking about though? Are you sure you're not still talking about Shining Force? |
Changed character names:
Alys = Ryre
Chaz = Rudy
Rune = Rein
Gryz = Pike
Rika = Fal
Demi = Rena
Kyra = Sela
Seth = Siam
Hahn and Raja are the same. At least some of these are kept from the Japanese version - I recognize Rudy, Fal and I think Pike. Rein is odd though, as he was called Thray in Japan. Guess he went through a couple of name changes. The vehicles are all called by different names as well - "Landmaster", "Ice-Decker" and "Flow-Mover". There's a few bugs here and there, including a Desolizian whose text is blank and the translation in general is complete, but rough in a lot of places. There's also a few things left in that were eventually censored:
Raja is a perv. Also a lush:
Not sure if that bit was in the final or not, but my save RAM file doesn't work perfectly with the final version to check. Finally, I think I would have remembered seeing these:
In short, I really like Phantasy Star IV and thank you drx for blowing my weekend. |

BOOBIES!
I don't remeber that enemy either, although I only played the game once, and that was the day it was released and I beat it in one looooooooooong sitting so some of the game is very unfamilar to me, playing through the proto reminded me that it wasn't a bad game at all (was disapapointed back in the day when I paid 89.99 for it and beat it in a day....)
if you want to do some more exploring this page has some decent gg codes that do work on the proto:

just remeber the proto DOES have the level 99 glitch |

Ironically, PSIV is the only Phantasy Star game I don't own in some form. It seems very good from what I've played, though.
P.S. Thanks, drx- it was exceptionally cool of you to share these protos with everyone! |

Hi Folks,
I recently had a major hard drive crash that took me a month of nonstop work to get back my data. I got back almost everything, save for some very unimportant files. The lone exception was this release. I can't see on the hidden palace site a link to this any more, unless I'm just blind. Does anyone had a valid recent torrent or other link for it? Thanks very much ahead of time!

Yes, thank you. Minutes after I posted that, I found them, but I had to leave the house before I could come back and write this. Apparently, all I'm missing is the Gamecube stuff because I have all the rest. I didn't realize it until it downloaded all 850MB of the other stuff in seconds...because it was already there.
I started the GC torrent and it seems to be downloading, though it'll take me a week at this speed. Good enough, I guess!
Thanks very much anyway, folks! Sorry for reviving an old thread for nothing. If nothing else, maybe this will remind you to stop what you are doing and play some of these games! I know you haven't played them all!
