Someone should contact the programmer and see if there are any betas of Captain McGrandpa. I don't see him listed on mobygames, anybody know how to get in touch with him? |

Having had past experience with the elusive programmer of Captain McGrandpa, I'd say that it's best if you let him come to you instead of vice versa. Being the pursuer just makes things even more difficult than they already are. Personally, I got his attention by cosplaying as Captain McGrandpa and then all I did after that was wait for him to get in touch with me and it magically happened on its own. |

Did you ask him about the canned Driving Without Glasses side quest? Or the rumored Senior Breakfast at Golden Corral minigame, in which you have to acquire mashed potatoes and return to your table before the Adult Diaper meter reaches critical?
The latter would be kind of hard to pull off in a text-based interface, though, so it was probably planned for the CGA sequel. |

From what I remember of my last encounter with him, he said that the Driving Without Glasses sidequest is actually still accessible in the game, albeit under very extreme requirements. (I believe there was something about successfully having Captain McGrandpa live an extremely fulfilling life for several years with only his Social Security payments and nothing else. If he took even a single cent from his sympathetic family members, the sidequest wasn't any longer accessible.) As for the Senior Breakfast at Golden Corral minigame, he didn't confirm or deny whether it had ever actually existed during development. He simply hinted that he believed it would have pushed the rendering engine of the ASCII characters to its absolute breaking point. So, while it was theoretically possible, I guess they either attempted it and failed horribly or didn't even make the effort to try at all. |

Reminds me of that game where we played with rocks uphill both ways and we liked it.
