A couple of news outlets recently posted articles about the big success story of the guy who created the iPhone game Trism, and how he was able to quit his day job and start his own game studio with the quarter of a million he made on a game he created in his free time.
The reason I bring this up is because the person behind Trism is Demi, known to most around here as the guy responsible for getting Earthbound Zero dumped back in the day, and making some awesome translations for games like Final Fantasy 2 and Radical Dreamers. I have a huge respect for Demi for the things he's done for the emulation community, and I think it's great to see that he's not only become successful, but has done so through something he loves to do.
Since that article doesn't mention it: His company's website is located at demiforce.com. |

Wow, I'll be damned, a notable figure from the translation/emulation/etc. community meeting success in this era of indie games! Exciting new world, innit?
Who knows, maybe the hacker behind "Wilford Kong" will find his time in the sun someday with some sort of WiiWare opus, eh? |

Funnily enough, I recently recall someone telling me to try to contact Demiforce about a BS Tantei Club translation project (I recall the Famicom Tantei Club Part 2 one - was very nice.)
Don't think that's gonna happen now. LAUGHING OUT LOUD.
I'm pondering the potential irony if a "Trism Zero" ends up being leaked somewhere down the line... |

Wow. He totally deserves this, especially after the whole Drymouth publishing fiasco way back when. |

Oh, cool. I'm very familiar with the game, but I didn't know it was Demi. |

Me neither. I recently read his success story on CNN, but I had no idea this was the same guy. Congrats to him! That's so awesome.
