I believe a few of you here have interviewed Darlene Lacey (formerly Darlene Waddington) before in regards to her work on DuckTales. I just finished interviewing her about another NES game, Adventures in the Magic Kingdom, and I thought I would post a link:

That first secret message says "Tenchi wo Kurau wo yoroshiku", so in case you're wondering that means "Look forward to Tenchi wo Kurau" and TwK is of course Destiny of an Emperor on NES. So I'd look there for "Bamboo 8". The name "Bamboo" is of course from Takenaka which means "in the bamboo". |
