A while back I was doing my usual "dig around NicoNicoDouga for videogame-related videos to re-upload to my Youtube", and I found this..
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=td1hivlq1DM
Since seeing this I've decided to try looking up exactly what this title is.
I'll start with the description on NicoNicoDouga and a Google translation:
"貰い物の宣伝ビデオより。タイトー1995年の没アーケードゲーム。当時渋谷でロケテスト中に遊びました。エアインフェルノのようなヘリ操作で、ミッションモードと2台での通信対戦モードがありました。後にIDYA用のCGムービーソフトになってたような・・・"
"Gift from video advertising. Taito arcade game deaths in 1995. I played in Roketesuto in Shibuya at the time. Inferno helicopter operations, such as air, there is the battle mode in a communication mode and two missions. - It did sound as CG movie software for IDYA become after ..."
The game "dying" in 1995 seems like it'd contradict a report of someone having played it but I'll just assume it was one of those "Arcade test runs" that didn't get through, but either way...
Any attempt to Google this up inevitably just leads me to Zuntata album listings for the "Zuntata Rare Selection" series.

That being said, "City Diver the Ride" sounds a bit different from "City Diver", the "CG Battle Action Game", sorta....
Any help here would be appreciated. |

Here's a better translation.
Quote: | From a promotional video I received as a gift. Canceled arcade game from Taito in 1995. I played this when it was out for a location test in Shibuya. It was a helicopter flying game similar to "Air Inferno", with a singleplayer "Mission mode" and a 2-player "battle mode" that used two linked cabinets. I think after it was canceled it got turned into one of those CG movie games used by the Taito IDYA. |
Location test is when they have cabinets of unreleased games available for play and ask the players questions about the experience, etc. The IDYA was one of those enclosed cockpit cabinets that moved around. |

Thanks! I'll assume "CG Movie game" may refer to what "City Diver The Ride" in those album listings are. So we have an arcade game that got up to location testing, but was cancelled for whatever reason...? Hmm... |
