Was wondering if any one had a rom for this game it was unreleased probably due to the fact it was late in the nes life and was also being released on the snes,
But there are screencaps that suggest the was was fully developed it even had finished box art made for it.
Was told that this was the place to come for answers about this game and that this fourm was the most knowledgeable on unreleased games so hopefully someone here could shed more light on this lost gem.
Summary:
Based on the film of the same name, it's time for Snow White to go from maiden in distress to bonafide hero. She must rescue her handsome prince from the clutches of Lord Maliss the brother of Snow White's evil stepmother.
Release Date: Jul 25, 1991
Publisher: Sofel

Not much more to say than what you already said. It looked done, and got as far as being advertised, but no one has found a copy yet.
I will add that it actually wasn't very late into the NES' lifecycle...the game was announced and playable at Summer CES in June 1990, a very healthy time for the NES. Sofel just kept...not releasing the thing. They kept bringing it to trade shows as late as 1993 before it just disappeared. It's possible they were improving the game during that time, but we don't know for sure. The screenshots between those three years look like the exact same game to my eyes. |

The movie is most likely to blame. Filmation planned to release it in 1990, but it got delayed (possibly due to legal issues, since it sorta plays off the Disney film). I bet Sofel didn't want to release the game without the movie tie-in, and by the time that movie came out it was 1993 and the NES was old news. |

It looks like it was released but seems a bit expensive so it is probably a rare game. |

The game saw a release on SNES, though I don't know if it reuses elements of the NES version.
By the way, it seems a Mega Drive version was planned :

It also stands to reason that, if Disney was suing to block the release of the movie, Sofel would have been sued as well for releasing the game, since the same things Disney felt infringed on their copyrights would be present in the game. |

If there was ever an appropriate reason to bump an old thread about an unreleased game this is it. Nice surprise.
The reused Friday the 13th track, plus all the sound effects from Xexyz seems to leave no doubt Hirohiko Takayama composed this game. I wonder who the developer is though? It isn't necessarily Atlus, since Hirohiko Takayama used their sound engine on a lot of games they didn't make. |

I second that: it is definitely a nice surprise and huge thanks to Sean McGee!
if I had to be super picky, the .nes file has battery set to 1 in the header, but there is no battery nor work RAM on the depicted PCB
but I hope NintendoPlayer doesn't see this as a negative comment: the release is really great and the coverage on the website is very informative, so I hope he keeps up with such a great work |

Use this if you're a bit frustrated with the controls. I mash-pressed A and sometimes it tried to choose a special power instead of attack. |

This is great news and I'm really surprised that the game is much better than I expected (I thought it would be Sachen-level quality). |

the page for this is 404'd....any word on what happened? i talked to hirohiko takayama last night, he says he wants to get back into making soundtracks for games. i did a medley of some of his songs from king of kings 2 weeks ago for the last single i put out:

So who made this? Atlus? Or some other contracted company?
Even though the game's mediocre, it'd amuse me if Westone or Natsume was somehow behind it. Probably not, of course. The enemies all make googly faces when they die, but Westone wasn't exactly the only developer to do that. |
