|
|
Hey guys, another newbie here.... ^^
I have already visited this site when it was and also visited the forums but only lurked around, but I just remembered about this game....
I remember in the days after SF2 was released on the SNES and the Genesis people was requesting a port of the game to the Genesis.....
Well, I remember seeing screenshots from gaming magazines that has SF2 Champion Edition screenshots on the Genesis system, although after a while Capcom seemed to reprogram the game (To match up with SF2 Turbo SNES, which I think is also near completion?) and released it as SF2 Special Champion Edition (I think it's called SF2 Plus in the Japanese market?) , I vaguely remember the Genesis early version to have yellow borders, and black status bars which made it quite ugly. But it would still be interesting if there would be a ROM of the that build of the game.... Any ideas/leads? |

I remember those screenshots. Man, it was awful looking, looked as bad as MK did for the genesis. |

Is this the version where Blanka was known as "Branka" instead? That's the only thing I can remember about it, besides the ugly colors. |

"Branka" hahaha!
Almost as awesome as Capcom/Virgin's typo in the English Saturn/PSX version of Megaman X3:
The introduction FMV for Blizzard buffalo reads:
Billzard Buffalo
(Reason I wrote Capcom/Virgin is because I dunno who's responsible, as the bosses have different names in the Japanese version)
Capcom rules on misprinted/changed names...
Like MMX5 with different names between the manual and in-game! |

The whole MMX5 boss naming fiasco was shameful. I like Gn'R as much as the next guy, but show a little integrity in your work. |

I remember the Branka thing, though I don't recall the yellow bar or anything looking particularly bad. |

I downloaded a 30-ish min. promo video of this game a while back. It's about 23 megs, if anyone wants it. It's so corny... |

Yeah I remember that. It was in the episode "The Old Grey Whistle Theft". Though I thought it was the Snes version that Dougal was playing. I'll have to check that episode again later. |

If it's the same promo I'm thinking of, Capcom actually mailed it to me on VHS back in the day. I've still got the tape. I guess they were pretty serious about marketing the game.
[edit]: My tape says it's 7 minutes long, so I guess it's not the same. |

Is that the purple tape that calls Ryu "Roo"? I got that. That tape rocks. |

It's not purple, no. I haven't seen the contents in ten years, so I can't comment on pronunciation. |
