It is not a Lost Treasure. We should probably talk about it here instead.
Just something people can riff with:
The PS2 had SHIT for games for like, 9 months. RIDDLE ME THAT. |

Backwards compatiblity means the PS2 had over 1000 domestic titles at launch. Just not PS2 titles. |

Backwards compatibility means the DS has over 1000 titles (perhaps not 1000 *domestic* titles) at launch. Just not DS titles.
OH YEAH, TAKE THAT. |

OH YEAH, TAKE THAT. |
And it could've had over 4000.
But you know... |

I thought TimeSplitters was decent. Other than that though, yeah, pretty much. |

But, you know, adding in a whole seperate processor just to please a very small crowd of "hardcore" gamers isn't cost effective. Jesus fuck people, stop whining about GB/GBC and use your SP. |

I would love to see the survey results that stipulate "over a million gamers all over the world" still play Game Boy and Game Boy Color games, which haven't been in production for years now. Even I haven't touched one in months. And furthermore, since you're obviously so much smarter than the marketing department of a company that's survived for well over one hundred years now, I'd love to see the marketing research you apparently have access to that explains how the cost of physically adding another PROCESSOR (read: expensive part) to a unit they've struggled to keep streamlined and small (have you HELD one of the prototype DSes? Oh wait, you're just some guy whining on the internet) is somehow profitable in the end.
Or maybe Nintendo should just throw money away to please people like you, because you're obviously the backbone of this market, and much more important than those target audiences who spend the money to keep this industry afloat and allow innovation like the DS. No, fuck innovation, fuck money, whiny people on the internet want to play Super Mario Land on four different consoles at the same time. Let's focus on that instead.
EDIT: Now that I've thought about it some more, you already have four ways to play old Game Boy games. Assuming we're counting the GBA and the SP as one unit, you have: Game Boy, Super Game Boy, Game Boy Advance, and Game Boy Player. The latter two can play Game Boy Color games, too. We've had:
Game Boy
Game Boy Pocket
Game Boy Light
Super Game Boy
Game Boy Color
Game Boy Advance
Game Boy Player
Game Boy Advance SP
and Nintendo is somehow fucking you over by not supporting a 15-year-old portable in a new unit that's not even CALLED Game Boy? Jesus christ, give it a rest.

Thank you, dear. You have been upgraded to Forums Wife. Everyone with a Lost Levels logo by their name can now refer to you in endearing terms such as honey, sweetheart, pumpkin, and bitch.
We're hungry, sweetheart, make us sandwiches. |

Wasn't there an unofficial player for the N64 as well? |

Yeah, Datel released one atleast...
(I think they released several versions of it actualy, I remember the first one of them atleast lacked sound support)
Also. I think they've released one for the GC too that plugs into the Memory card slot, iirc.
also, I can remember reading some article about an unreleased/unofficial GB player for the NES too :-/ |

Yeah, Codemasters was going to release it. There was an official Wide Boy too, but I think we should stop derailing this thread. |

I'm looking forward to see some fancy add-on gadgets for the DS...
Didn't they say that the DS games could take usage of the GBA port to use "add-on" devices?
(Sorta like slotting in a rumble pack, a sun sensor, motion sensor and what-so-ever) |
