That cat in Zoo Ball reminds me of Neco, that Zoom company cat mascot thing. |

So I take it that US NTSC proto of The Firemen hasn't been dumped? =/
I was playing the PAL one for a while, and I thought it was actually kind of fun. |

That is because it is. The game was released as Dolucky no Kusayakiu (my investigation yesterday came up empty), which was made by Zoom.
Also, the US version of The Firemen was released. Check Matthew Callis' website. |

Oh sweet, thanks.
Too bad it looks like it's an early version from before the PAL release. Regardless, it'll look a whole lot better on the Wii. |

I like these articles Evan. I never bothered playing through Revenge of the Joker due to the 16 bit versions being worse than the original. Weird how the final battle with the Joker is totally different from the Nes and Genesis games.
The Genesis version used the same final boss as the Nes game so I wonder why they decided to change it for the Snes one? Based on your description of that fight, it doesn't sound like it was a good decision. The vgmuseum has the ending if rey doesn't mind me linking it.

There's a game called Super Tearaway for the SNES mentioned in the ending for Tearaway Thomas for the Amiga... or Tearaway Thomas 2. Neither appeared to have made it.
See http://www.vgmuseum.com/end/amiga/b/tear.htm to see what I'm talking about. |

This was in last month's Nintendo Age e-zine, but the website version of this article on Tinhead has a bunch of extras not in the magazine. |

Could "Rocket Knight" had been an earlier name for Sparkster? I know that came out a year later and had nothing to do with the Genesis version of Rocket Knight Adventures, but Konami's Genesis versions of their games were always different from their SNES counterparts. |

Now why would I mind that ArnoldRimmer83?
Now that I look at the ending again, I realized that is the exact same ending Contra had! |

That's for sure. The graphics look the same and the publisher for both is Extreme.

I found some screenshots of the SNES version of Akira in an old EGM.
Don't expect a page of it soon, though. |

Yep that's the one.
The other scans I got are from the Mega Drive/CD version.
Some interesting stuff in that link.
Was Ragnarok ever released in Japan ?
About Dynoblazer I saw material only for the Mega Drive and 3DO version. |

The confusing thing is Li Wang (I think it was) sent me a scan once of an ad for Galactic Defenders that indicated it was a localization of Super Chinese World 2.
Did Culture Brain make plans to localize both titles under that name (though obviously not simultaneously), or did EGM make a mistake? (as the only other place I heard of GD as SDHnK was a different EGM preview) |

well, the preview on that site seems to have a description of Chinese World 2 next to a screenshot of SD Hiryu no Ken, so that's definitely a mistake. but it could still be the case that Culture Brain did intend to release both games under the same title, and EGM's mistake only arose as a result of the (fairly understandable) confusion this created. Although the title "Galactic Defenders" doesn't really make much sense applied to SDHnK. |
