Hay guys what is cool and hip to emulate the NES these days? Last time I had a useful computer, FCE Ultra was the bee's knees but Xod stopped working on that a long time ago. |

PocketNES + GBA Flash cart, all the way for me (and when sound and WiFi gamesharing/multiplayer works in NES DS, I'll be using that instead) |

I'm very up-to-date w/ the nes emulator scene. There are 3 outstanding emulators, all w/ around 98 - 99% compatability. They are:
- Nestopia
- VirtuaNes
- Nintendulator
Of the 3, I strongly recommend Nestopia as it is the only one to be both highly customizable, AND known to be in active development.
Regards. |

Very good. I think all 3 cover FCEUltra's mapper range.
The following mappers have just been added added to Nestopia:
53, 56, 142, 158, 164, 165, 193, 203, 204, 205, 206, 207, 208,
209, 210, 211, 212, 213, 215, 217
Quite impressive, I'm sure you'll agree. Can't recommend this one highly enough. |

Does anyone know of an emulator that isn't FCE Ultra that knows what an FDS is supposed to sound like? The closest thing I've found is VirtuaNES and that throws the same jerky shitfits FCE Ultra has apparently taken a liking to on this system.
I had FCE Ultra running fine before I had to replace the damn motherboard. |

Mednafen and Nintendulator should sound right, do either of those work? |
