There's suddenly a dance in my pants.

Also Kapow, what game is your avatar from? I can't remember its name, but I do remember how awesome it is.

The only game I can think of that I'd REALLY like to see surface is the NES port of SimCity. I heard rumors on the intramerthing that there's supposedly a proto in existence somewhere, but I'm not getting my hopes up.

Oh damn! I was hoping i'd get to see all the crap un-finished shit where all you can do is move and go through glitchy levels... regardless...

Think about it, why do want those games?

It's more than rumor, there were photos and screenshots in a recent Nintendo Power.

Of the proto itself or just screencaps of the game? There have been screenshots shown before when the game was announced, they could have just taken from that.

Both. It was some "collector's closet" ripoff column, I don't know if they still do it.

The proto is located at NOA, though, so I kinda doubt it's going anywhere.

You know... StarFox 2 was brought to the public due to someone stealing it from the CES.

Not sayin' I'm gonna do anything, but I AM sayin'...

Well that or another proto will pop up. More realistic hope, though slim.

True.. but I'd say that security at Nintendo HQ is way tighter than CES, or Fort Knox or whatever else. I'm as sure it exists in completed form as I am that we'll never see it if the only complete copies are in some vault at Nintendo.

I don't think it's in a "vault," I think it just happens to be laying around the Nintendo Power office from when they first previewed it. Along with god knows what else.

"Vault" is as good a word as any to describe the probable level of security there, given the number of leaked prototypes we know to have come directly from Nintendo.

So my best friend actually works QA at Nintendo, and is playing prototype DS games every day (no, I can't say which). And yeah, they're hard core. It's entirely possible to walk out with a proto at the end of the day, of course they're all logged so you'll be fired, and you'll get a letter from their lawyers asking for the proto.

I'm gonna maintain that it's impossible to do it and get away with it, since that's kinda the point here.

I remember DreamTR or somebody else saying NP was gonna cover Bound High in a future volume. That was awhile ago, so I don't know if they ever ended up doing it. Showing off some Nintendo games that their fans will never get to play is the most cruel thing they can possibly do.

Right, that was my point. Sure, and employee COULD walk out with a game, but actually being able to KEEP one, and not getting caught by Nintendo is pretty unlikely.

I'm probably not the only one who'd sign up quick for that Virtual Console download service if Nintendo were to put some unreleased goodies on it.
But, what we'd like Nintendo to do and what Nintendo wants to do, are of course two different things.
