OK, so I'm passing the local cell phone shop the other day and the 100 yen junk bin reminds me of something I read long ago. That being that it's supposedly possible to just pick up the right old model for said 100 yen and use it for games and homebrew/emulation stuff even though the phone service itself is obviously locked and not worth the cost of getting. I've been digging around a bit for information, but haven't found much of anything. Does anyone know any sites with any sort of detail about what phones (Japanese specifically) are compatible with what emulators? Which older "junk" models I'd be digging through the bin for? And, you know, guides on how they work?

Also...is there any sort of "scene" for uhh..."acquiring" all the crazy games offered through Japanese cell phone companies? I assume there's no way to get anything legitimately without the phone service itself?
