Hey any of you guys ever heard of this??
Holy crumbled Doritos..this would have been amazingly cool.
I enjoyed the two Godzilla games for the NES, but always felt Rodan deserved a game. I could imagine his wings blowing little pixelated pagodas to sticks, or shooting lazer breath at tanks.
I came across this cancelled game review on the Toho website. I was geekily downloading the games section using HTTrack, an lo and behold..this....discovery.
Apparently, the second NES game was converted from a Rodan game, because the market in the USA would not beg for a Rodan game. I wonder what was lost in the rehash.

I wonder if the lazy developers left any of the Rodan content in the ROM. I'm just as lazy as they are though, because I won't check. |

Yeah, I like the Turbo Duo version as well. That really has a Godzilla-ness all its own. As for the NES games, I have to remark that I hated the cheap hits those missiles would get on wimpy Mothra.
handofg0d, you look a lot like Hedora. Maybe your melting eyes have trouble using a rom or hex editor. I forgive thy laziness. *MWUAH* |

I glanced through the Godzilla 2 rom, and while I didn't see anything that looked like leftover Rodan content, there was a full set of hiragana and katakana, plus several kanji. Interesting considering the game was (I think) a US-only release. |

It was oddly enough. The game seems like it would have had a far better chance at success over in Japan but who knows. Maybe Toho thought it would get swallowed up by all the other strategy titles over there. |

It looks like he is in there, and a normally accessable enemy also. |

That doesn't necessarily mean it's leftover content from the original Rodan game. |
