Somewhere during the late 90s, PC Gamer (the magazine y'know) had a feature on seven interesting-but-cancelled games, like Warcraft Adventures[/]] and the graphical remake of [i]Planetfall.

I THINK I have this issue somewhere, but it's probably tucked away in some corner somewhere in my house, and the only reference I can find to that PC Gamer article is this Russian page:

http://www.quake.spb.ru/news_archive/010798-070898.htm

A little less than halfway down the page it lists the seven games and brief descriptions, but I can't find any kind of indication as to which issue of PC Gamer it's from. This is quite frustrating, because I really, really want to reread the entry on Creation, which was to be an underwater ecology-focused game based on the Magic Carpet engine.

This need increased even more when I found that the only apparent resource for information on the game still left on the internet:

http://www.thecomputershow.com/computershow/previews/creation.htm

.......tells a considerably different story than what I remember the article saying. I recall reading that they made the modified engine and the gameworld, and it seemed fantastic enough, but they never came up with anything to really do with it - it was more like an interactive aquarium, or something like that. I mean, I remember reading about the fungus taking over the ecological system, but nothing about having to help dolphins kick the habit and fighting drug dealers in submarines. I just.......don't remember that at all.

So, does anyone by any chance know more about this game, or have the PC Gamer in question? Even just knowing what's on the front cover of the magazine would ease my searching a lot.

Well, the news with the list was posted 7/21/98, so I'd guess it's in the July or August issue.

Don't magazines usually post-date though? ie might the cover of the issue from July say September on it, perhaps?

They post-date one month. So saying July or August means I'm giving this site legroom for maybe publishing the news from the July issue late.
