In news most of you are sure to've read by now, http://www.gamespot.com/news/6146528.html

In a couple words, fuck yes.

I certainly didn't consider any games for non-Nintendo systems would be available for download on the Revolution, so this is pretty damn cool. It seems like one of those completely obvious why-the-hell-not things that won't ever happen.. until it does and seems completely obvious in a why-the-hell not kinda way.

Good job Nintendo. And now I'll get Cellda on my DS! Yay.

That's a major coup for the Revolution.

I bet it's actually more of a coup for all those companies with older games just sitting around no longer earning. Instant revenue stream, or at least someone talking about them and/or their properties again. At the same time it makes Nintendo look damn smart and gives the Revolution a cheap library (of admitedly older games, but everyone has at least one game they jones for) right out of the gate.

Long tail may finally apply to the video game world, very weird.

I'm kinda not surprised.

NEC has been a long time manufacturing partner of Nintendo. I just wonder if this means just the Turbografix or all variations of the Turbo, ie CD and Supergrafix add-ons.

It would be cool if this also included the PC-FX, but I highly doubt it...

I was kinda wondering about CD games, too. Anyone heard about plans for a Revo hard drive or USB ports?

... I could potentially play Mario, Sonic, AND Bonk all in a row without even standing up inbetween.

I think there might be some smart people working at Nintendo, guys.

That's pretty cool actually, but I can already do all of these things on, y'know, my computer. It's not going to sell me on a new console.

If anyone buys a revolution just to play old games I'll punch them in the fucking face.

Y'gotta admit though, the fact that they even considered this is a pretty noble effort. That alone caught my eye.

(even though I already have the entire PC Engine/Megadrive library on a CDR...)

Hey, I've got a hacked xbox that'll play all this old stuff too. I currently can play Mario, Sonic and Bonk all in a row without getting up. I'm still damn excited about this news.

Glad to know I'm not the only one who cannot get up after playing Mario, Sonic and Bonk all in a row.

Sir, you're a NEGA-FATTIE.

I wouldn't object to paying for GOOD roms if the money goes to the company. Are Compile still around?

If so, they're probably just doing Puyo Puyo over and over again. Last significant Compile-related thing I saw was Zanac X Zanac.

[edit]: According to a Wikipedia entry, they went bankrupt in 2002.

Sonic Team got the rights to Puyo Puyo, then changed it into the horrid Puyo Puyo Fever.

I'm still wondering how they plan to ruin NiGHTS or their recently acquired properties Space Channel 5 and Rez. Somebody tell them to redesign the main characters, quick!

In a perfect world, we would've had a remake of or a sequal to Guardian Legend.

Irem/Compile, please bless the world with such a game once again!

Irem only published the game, and Compile is dead. If you like the original, play it. Some things can't be improved upon.

I give Irem credit for publishing such a fine gem.

They could've atleast re-released it somehow, I will feel personaly offended if I don't see it on the virtual console for the Revolution.

It's such a great game :(
