What ever happened to The Sniper 1 & The Sniper 2. I remember they were both supposed to be released the same day The Sniper was on PSX and The Sniper 2 was on Ps2. These games were light gun games. I remember seeing a The Sniper cover for USA but i cant find it anywere.
Edit:
aparently 1 came out in japan and 2 came out in UK (under Midas) and Japan. This game looked awesome but i never heard like hardly any talk about it. It was released by D3 entertainment which made like low budget games. Several of there games got released in America under Agetec.

Both were scheduled for US release at some point (Sniper 1 was going to be renamed Silent Tactics), but they never came out. Also the Sniper games don't play so much like lightgun games as they play like Silent Scope without the gun. A really ugly Silent Scope. An ugly Silent Scope with no gun support where you only had to shoot one guy per stage.
Still, Sniper 1 was compelling in that weirdo D3 sort of way, whose charm sort of wore off for me around the time I played Zombie vs. Ambulance. I'd REALLY like to find an NTSC-formatted English version of Sniper 2 sometime, though, because it looked a lot better than the first. I'd play the Japanese version but for some reason it's in this weird language I can't understand.
Sniper 1 is pretty easy to play without knowing Japanese, though, and it's worth tracking down if you're into sniper games. Just you TRY and figure out that last mission by yourself though. I DARE you. |

I might pick up the PAL version - it's incredibly cheap these days. I'll let you know if it has a 60hz mode (which would make it more or less playable on a modded NTSC setup) |

okay, this game is absolutely fucking terrible, even by Simple series standards. And it doesn't have a 60hz mode. Can't imagine you'd be missing much by playing it in Japanese, though. |
