Well for one thing Capcom could cheap out on production costs and the game fits on a CD opposed to a DVD.

Yeah. But still, the difference between running on CD and running on DVD are pretty nominal.

They already had the 3D Model data and such already setup...

i guess demand was bigger for a 2D game and they tried to go for it... I'm just sad Hyper Street Fighter Alpha never became a real arcade product(What's funny is that there's a different "Revision" in Alpha Anthology for Hyper SFA).

I dunno. CFJ's problem is that Karin and Jedah were too overpowered and there weren't enough characters compared to say, Capcom Vs. SNK2. Even SNK's version of the inter-SNK Fighter, NeoGeo Battle Coliseum was much better. With quirky characters like Hanzo and Fuuma showing up from World Heroes... note: KOF has a specific scope(Last Blade, Athena, Ikari Warriors, AOF, FF + new characters(Kyo, Iori, Ash, etc)). How Hattori Hanzo shows up in KOF2006/MI2 is waaay beyond me.
