I've just noticed this scan at SMS power includes some info about an unreleased Genesis game by Codemasters, as well as a screenshot that could belong to it.
The translation would go like this:
Quote: | As for hilarious heroes, nothing better than "Aarnie Aardvark", a nice parody of the classic movie thug. The star of this MegaDrive cartridge will have the mission of fixing your TV by getting around endless obstacles. |
There doesn't seem to be any info about this game anywhere besides this vague description, I suppose nobody here knows anything else or has clean screens from it? Not sure if it would have anything to do with the scrapped game but, as a bit of trivia, Arnie Aardvark was one of the many possibilities when Q*Bert's name was being decided.
Oh, and Global Golf was either scrapped,or changed its name before release, by the way. |

There was a Codemasters magazine ad that did show two small screenshots of this game. I think the ad had the game under a different name. (Dreyfus Smartvark, or something like that. My memory of it isn't that good.) I don't know if the ad is online or not.
I've always had a weird fascination with Codemasters, so my interest in seeing some of their unreleased stuff is very high. |

I was bugging frank about this a while back, Sega used to have a comic called Sonic the Comic going that had a ton of videogame news. Lots and lots of unreleased stuff. I'm supposed to be putting some of the scans of Mark Millar's Streets of Rage strip up for people to laugh at so I'll keep an eye out. |
