I've just found an official SNES release list from back in the day, which has a few interesting things:
Quote:
This listing has been long in waiting, but here's the list of upcoming
games for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in North America.
These dates are only tentative, and are subject to change, but these
are the most approximate release dates, as of January 12th, direct from
Nintendo Of America. Any games which aren't listed here, have either
already been released and have yet to reach your retail dealer, or are
slated as ANNOUNCED, and they have yet to be given a specific release
date.

If you have any comments or questions regarding this listing of games,
please feel free to respond in this newsgroup, or through E-Mail to the
above address. Here are some of the acronyms used in this listing,
explained in further detail. {Note that at the sides of upcoming
games, are the gaming categories which they most likely fill fit
under.}

Category Abbreviations:

(FA) = Fantasy Action Games (SF) = Street Fighting Games
(AC) = Arcade Action Games (SH) = Sci-Fi Shoot-Em-Ups
(FR) = RPG And Adventure Games (ST) = Strategic Simulations
(S6) = Super Scope 6 Games (PU) = Puzzle Games
(SI) = Simulation Games (ED) = Edutainment Titles
(FS) = Futuristic Sports Titles (VE) = Vehicular Racing Titles
(FO) = Sports: Football (BS) = Sports: Baseball
(BA) = Sports: Basketball (HO) = Sports: Hockey
(SO) = Sports: Soccer (SS) = Sports: Baseball & Football
(OL) = Sports: Olympic Games (WR) = Sports: Wrestling
(WS) = Sports: Winter Sports

Also Note That (MCG), stands for Mouse Compatible Game. Also, take
note that 'Sound Fantasy', by Nintendo Of America, will be packaged
with the mouse, giving an alternative to those people who do not wish
to purchase the accessory through Mario Paint.

Besides some "classic" lost games such as Socks the Cat and Chuck 2, the one thing I found particulary interesting was Hammerin' Harry. It was such a nice game I wonder why they didn't bother releasing this localization. After all, they did release the kinda inferior NES version, over here (Europe) at least.

To Nintendo: I want it on the VC.

Wow, Toxic Crusaders. Nearly a year after EGM's review blurb.
Ghetto Blaster? Dare I ask what other abominations Mandingo (Bebe's Kids) had planned?

Pinky? I'm going to guess The Brain was not involved.

Huh. Call me ignorant, I had never heard of Sound Fantasy. Interesting stuff on Wikipedia.

I played Hammerin' Harry for a bit on an emulator. Steve has a good review of it on his website:

http://www.rvgfanatic.com/6501/14701.html

I personally thought it was an average platformer.

It was probably a remake of the Commodore 64 game. They had no involvement with that game as far as I can tell, but I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt. Hopefully it wasn't some Lethal Enforcers clone set in the inner city. Actually - I kind of hope it was, and that there's a playable copy of it out there somewhere, because that would just be too good.

My SNES died some time ago. It hurts -especially- when I see a list like this.
However, I haven't gotten around to see if they've been emulated.

They have been dumped, along with every other commercially released game.
