"Cobra Command" ROM contain another title "Silent Wolf". Is there just some ending title or another planned but unused game title? There is any info about this stuff exist? (maybe you are know that already)... Wink

I can't possibly imagine why this title wasn't used.

Wolf Team ported Cobra Command, originally a Data East laserdisc arcade game, to the Sega CD.

This is the NES version of Cobra Command (also by Data East), which was a very different game.

I guess Stiffen Wolf can be added to the list of NES games that sound like porns, joining A Boy and His Blob, Chubby Cherub, MUSCLE and Infiltrator, among others.

Uh, hate to kill the fun, but those are lower-case "L"s. Therefore the title is Stillen Wolf, which is German for Silent Wolf.

WTF is it with so much German in Japanese games, anyway?

Compare them to the lower-case "l" and "f" in "Wolf" - they're definitely Fs.

Perhaps the artist was going for "Stillen Wolf," but his/her feeble grasp of non-Japanese languages mutated it into something terrible? It certainly wouldn't be the first time it's happened.

quite possible. after all, it's from Data East, the same company that released a game called "Death Brade".

Actually, I guess it was based on another Data East game also called "Cobra Command" (this time, it's a horizontal shmup) (video on YouTube here).
