|
|
Hello everyone,
I've already posted this on Nesdev forums, and I thought could be
interesting posting here too, maybe can I find the "answer" for
everything, huh? (or no)
Yeah, this is an unlicensed game from a company called Bit Corp,
and it's dated circa 1989.
At least here in Brazil, it's a VERY common game, because Gradiente
has been released it with their NES clone (Phantom System) around
1989/1990, or so.
I'm almost sure it uses a unknown mapper, since it's a pirate game.
But I really don't know why in over 10 years of emulation scene, no
one has been emulated this game.
And yes, the real name of the game is Crime Busters,
Gradiente didin't changed the title.
So, my question is: anyone tried to dump or emulate it? Anyone
KNOWS about that game?
I'll put some pictures I've found on web (screenshots probably
scanned from magazines):
More pics added:
The game was designed to play with the Zapper Gun, it's like a
shooting.
Even today, used carts can be easily found here. No one wants it.
Thanks!

Probably the main (or only) reason it hasn't been dumped is because it's not nearly as common outside of Brazil (i've looked on eBay a couple of times and never found it), and most NES dumpers are based in the US or Europe so they wouldn't come across a copy so easily. |

You're looking on the wrong eBay, meu amigo:
http://lista.mercadolivre.com.br/crime-busters
I'll note - reais are 1.77 to a dollar right now. Used to be over 2 to a dollar, but as I'll remind everyone, a buck isn't even half a pound anymore. |

If this was a Bit Corp game, wouldn't it have been available in Korea (Bit Corp appears to have been a Korean company)? |

I tried to dump it once, but I couldn't figure out which mapper it was. |

Yes, I've already played it in a local shop, and remembers Power Glove.
Ok, "works", but the response is pretty awful. There's a sensor on the
control that captures your moves and sends to console (by wire), so you
can play 8-bits versions of Boxe and Ping Pong (table-tennis).
Ironically, it was released by Dynacom BEFORE Wii's release (which
was in late 2006; Dynacom's was in 2005). Has Nintendo copied
Dynacom's idea?
However, it's very expensive for today standards (since it's for an
"obsolete" console). Good for collectors, maybe.

Do you know any other game from Bit Corp? I'd never seen another
one, only that Crime Busters. So, I figured out it uses an exclusive
mapper, probably someone will need to code a mapper to use it in
emulators.
If anyone wants to work in this game, to dump and write a mapper
for it, I can buy one and send for free.
Thanks! |

Some of these pirate originals use really complex copy protection. After all, who would know how to stop piracy better than the pirates themselves? I don't know if that's the problem with Crime Busters, but I'd guess that's it.
I'd really like to own a copy of Crime Busters, although I doubt I could dump it myself. |

I saw that boxing game for sale at a mall near me a couple of years ago. It was at one of those carts where people sell shit. |

It is not a pirate original, just an unlicensed game.
Why it is not dumped? Well there are lots of unlicensed games no one has dumped yet because either they are rare, hard to dump or whatever. There are relatively few NES dumpers and even fewer with enough technical knowledge to dump odd mappers and when a game doesn't somehow get into their hands it just doesn't happen. Please consider the fact around 70% of all usual PAL-games haven't been dumped till appoximately one year ago.
Well I was told someone you all know very well has got this game in his hands so it might be dumped sooner or later.
There is another game called Baby Boomer in brazil no one cared about yet. |

Probably because the original has been dumped for years now. |

Crime Busters... wow, that hit a soft spot.
I am also brazilian and happen to still own that dreadful piece of software, even though my NES clone is long gone by now. If anyone's interested in/capable of dumping it, I could mail my copy. |

Also, Color Dreams is Brazilian slang for "SHIT JUNK ASS". |

Several sites say Bit Corp was Korean. |

the thing about the internet is misinformation spreads. i've done a bit of research on that company for something i may or may not actually do anything with, and the evidence overwhelmingly points to them being Taiwanese. |

More interesting: Quarth ripoff. Wonder how it compares to the real game. |
