Does anyone know if there is a translation for this game? It is a prequel to Whomp 'em and is very similar to Wonderboy in Monster Land. I got to Stage 11 and got stuck in a maze. In one of the earlier levels you are given a choice of 3 things, but since I can't read Japanese I just picked the first one. That could be why I am stuck in the maze. I don't know. Anyone beat this? |

Admittedly I haven't beaten this game myself, but I don't suppose it couldn't hurt to check out Monster Land guides? Though I'm guessing you tried that already.
Unless they changed the game significantly, the only maze level I remember from Monster Land was the last one, and that was an absolute beast to get through. |

Arn, I did glance at the Monster Land FAQ and it does seem similar, but the maze level does look different. I will have to play through Saiyuuki World again using that FAQ and perhaps some of the Japanese language will make sense. |

Sorry for the ignorance, but how would a Whomp 'em prequel game that is "similar" to a Wonder Boy game be helped by a Wonder Boy guide?

"similar" = "damn near identical" in this case. presumably it's another one of those wonderboy ports that was developed/license by Westone but not by Sega so they couldn't use the name and character. |

I finally figured it out. I stayed in one section for longer than usual and beat up a few enemies and a lift appeared that would bring you up a shaft. Funny thing is, there are no other areas in the game where you have to beat enemies to make things appear, so this was pretty random. |

i think 2 only got done as a sort of quickie translation, there's only about three bits of japanese text in the entire game. |

...you did notice the part in that link where it mentioned Saiyuki World 2 being released as Whomp 'Em, right? |
