|
|
The conventional way of obtaining a DS demo is via a Wii or a download station. I lack the former, can't be bothered to travel to the latter and both methods suffer from the fact that demo sets are eventually replaced with newer ones. I'm fairly sure there's also a selection of DS demos which have never been released outside of industry events like E3, but actually have been dumped.
Does anyone know of a reliable way of finding these online? I'm guessing they're in pretty weird gray area, legally - they're definitely not the full game, but I doubt many people who produce them would be happy to know I want to use an EZ4 to play them on my DS.
Unfortunately, Google searching the filenames given on Pocketheaven's release list tends to turn up up few results, if any - I've found a handful of E3 demos and the first batch of Japanese demos, but that's all. I doubt I'd have much luck with torrents, either.
So....anyone know where I can find these? And "just play the commercial rom for an hour" isn't really the answer I'm looking for, if anyone's about to say it. |

If you want downloadable demos, you should buy a system that isn't made by a kiddy-focused novelty vendor. |

Yeah, you probably shouldn't be interested in trying demos of any of the games for the top selling system out there. That would be foolish. |

Even if DS download station roms were out there (I'm assuming they are), wouldn't you need two DSes to play the demos they contain? A download station only serves games as far as I know -- you'd need to load a download station rom on your flash cart, then have another DS download demos from it. Which may not even be possible, since download play via EZFlash is kind of flaky to begin with.
Complicated! |

i know in DSOrganise if you go to the homebrew downloads section it used to have a bunch of demos you can download via WiFi. but i dunno if it still does, or how recent they are (i haven't had wifi access in a year) or where they come from, or if anyone's keeping track of them or anything. |

alls a ds download station is ,is a ds with a demo cartridge in it (they just swap the carts out periodicly_ so to play the demo's off one of them you just have to have 2 ds systems, set one up with the demo cart and just download it with your second ds. |

ROM sites sometimes have various demos and the like... But I don't remember the particular one which was entirely demos/PD Material. |

Just takes some digging - I've found dumps for nearly every (if not every) DS Demo Station cartridge, (those are the ones that let you download the demo to your DS) as well as the kiosk demos.
Like blitz said, to run the demo stations, you'll need a pair of ds's one as the host and one to download the demo to. |
