well thats a bloody shame. sort of. i really enjoyed the one recent-ish jaleco games i played, but maybe i was alone in that ("Raging Blades" for the PS2, made when they were briefly known as PCCW Japan, although i think i mainly liked the fact that it all seemed like an early-90s arcade game that just accidentally happened to have been made in 3D). |

Ouch. Of course, there's the loan, but still...
To that end, I'll just quote a LL article:
Quote: | Oh Jaleco, we hardly knew ye. |
Or something to that effect, but still. |

I'll miss them but errr where they even making games beyond the super Nintendo era?I honestly barely noticed they were still going.
I don't think I have one game from them that isn't on nes or snes so I think they've been fairly irrelevant for a good long time now. On the plus side at least the name Jaleco will survive and who knows they might always go back in again... |

I suppose maybe Tetris Plus is notable, as (I think) the first version of Tetris on a non-Nintendo console.
(supposedly, there's a Genesis pirate Tetris going around. Supposedly it was from a leaked Sega version, unreleased after the Tengen suit. Then again, I supposed it could be a hacked Mega-Tech/Play ROM, which would've been within Sega's arcade-use license.) |
