Sooooo, I came across http://www.solvalou.com/images/arcade/reviews/74.jpg ...and the Mr.Do 'revamp'(?) preview is bugging me.
- The company mentioned (and typo'd) 'Electrocoin' as far as I can tell put out some home ports of Do! Run Run, and it's probably the same Electrocoin that also had license from Universal to do a Mr. Do-themed slot/fruit machine, but didn't do anything raster-arcade-game-wise.
- The article's description is a mix of both Do! Run Run and the original Mr.Do
- ...but, the main point of this is...what the hell is with that screenshot? I've never seen a hack/bootleg/etc of Mr.Do that looks like that, and so for a second I was thinking maybe that in the thousands of times I've played it, I've always sucked bad enough to never have gotten past the "Cherry" stages But anyway, Google showed nothing mentioning green bananas in arcade Mr.Do, so I'm wondering about that screenshot. |

Ahh okay...I wasn't even thinking of cabinet manufacturers themselves.
Looks like at least the description is probably of http://flyers.arcade-museum.com/?page=flyer&db=videodb&id=3469&image=1 since the Amiga version of Do! Run Run came out in '90.
So now I can focus all my What-the-hell?-ing on that screenshot of the original game with green bananas instead of cherries. |
