Tyrannosaurus Tex was a very ambitious game for the GamBoy Colour, being developed around the time the GBA was about to come out, (which may have lead to its demise) but the developers couldn't find a publisher and the game got shelved.

IGN still has a few articles and screenshots up about it

I was just wondering if anyone knew if the demo version they mention has been dumped or if anyone has a copy or even if there are any videos of the game online. I was really looking forward to this game back in 2000 and was dissapointed that it never surfaced.

Heh, I had almost forgot about that one.

(Guess my "unreleased GBC" attention is still too much focused on Resident Evil 1)

Is it just me, or do those screens look freakishly like an updated version of "3D Monster Maze"?

Do a google image search of the title if you're not familiar with ZX81 home computers.

I remember this game.

From what I've read about it, the game was supposedly a fluid 3d shooter a la Wolfenstein 3D. The game took forever to finish, but was completed. At last second, however, Eidos pulled out from publishing it. Thus the game was never released.

Also I remember talk of a two player mode in certain articles.

I might have some articles about it, seem to remember some magazine having some interview with some staff too.
(Probably N64 or ONM or something)

In an interview I read, (linked from Shiratski's article) they said Monster Maze was one of thier biggest influences.

Someone needs to edit this into "Slatherin'" with animated butter in place of the dinosaurs.

Awesome... no wait... now I really feel like an old man. Good lord, I actually referenced a ZX81 in online conversation. And I'm wearing 80s style ripped jeans with an Eagles LP playing in the background. Oh noes! I've beomc trapped in some kind of Hotal California style time-warp. I need to find a way back to the place (time) I was before, specifically, 1997!

Otherwise, thanks for that bit of info. I hadn't read the interview in question.

I just woke up with a slight hangover and this is the first thing I read and now I'm really confused and insane.

Well, you see, I was mocking myself about having knowledge of archaic games machines that would be useless to everyone else.

It's funny you should mention being hung over, since I had met up with my brother to drink tequila mere hours before posting that.

Otherwise, there's few worse things than feeling rough on a Thursday morning. Hope it clears.
