This morning on digg someone posted a link with these new fangled FC Twin systems. I haven't heard anything about them before today, but from I'm reading the SFAM part is actually more accurate than the famiclone. Anyone tried one yet?

Looks cool.

They say the Zapper won't work with it....would it be possible to rewire one to make it work?

I doubt it seeing as it uses SNES controllers. Though how did the super-scope work? Haha, totally different than the blaster I assume? Rolling Eyes

That is a neat system. People would probably really want it if they added a blaster of some sort, or even just an additional controller port for NES peripherals.

A rewire will most likely work, it is fairly easy to make NES to SNES adapters and viceversa

Before my local Rhino Games shut down, they had a system called FC Twin with SFC and FC. They also had a slim looking NES called NEX that looked really nice.

NOAC. Looks are unfortunately deceiving, the thing is sleek.

I hear the FC Twin is great for SNES, cause it used actual hardware. The NES is emulation tho. So it won't be as good.

Uh...they're both "actual hardware." No emulation is involved. The FC half just isn't as good because its hardware (the infamous "NES-on-a-chip") doesn't exactly match that of the original console.

So is this thing worth picking up? My snes broke due to an unfortunate incident involving beer. There is a local store offloading these FC Twins for about $45.

Wait, they are? Huh. So what causes compatibility issues with the SFC portion? I know there's at least one game that doesn't work right on it.

Most likely minute differences between the original and pirate hardware, i.e. something that takes x cycles to complete on an SNES takes y cycles on the clone. Some games are pretty sensitive to things like that.
